Gymnastics classes for kids on the Northern Beaches aged 5 – high school
FitNastics is a unique program that has been designed by industry professionals with decades of experience working with children, as athletes and gymnasts.
It incorporates the core elements of gymnastics with basic strength and fitness training with the aim of encouraging children of all ages and all abilities to learn and have fun in the gym! Following specific levels of progression, gymnasts move through FitNastics at their own pace while improving their gross motor skills, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, agility, aerial/body awareness and cardiovascular fitness. Gymnasts in FitNastics also increase their sense of patience and commitment as they work on gymnastics’ complex skills.

The booking procedure:
- In fairness to all customers, enrolments do not roll over to the next term. Each customer needs to re-enroll for the following term.
- Our existing customers (you) have a booking priority period each term from Monday week 5 to Sunday of week 7.
All bookings during the priority period will only be taken via the Parent Portal, full payment will be required.
- From Monday week 8 all remaining places in our classes are vacant and open for booking to all, including the general public.
- Coaches are continually monitoring your child’s progression. Coaches will consult with you regarding class advancement once they have met the set requirements.
Uniform & Equipment
For each class, we recommend that your child come in comfortable, close fitting sports attire. No baggy clothes, no jewellery and no watches. If your child’s hair is long enough to tie back, please make sure it is tied back securely. Also, please ensure that your child brings along a water bottle and that everyone comes into the centre wearing shoes, even if they are not required for the program.
Junior Fundamentals (Junior Fun)
In Junior Fun, your child will learn the basics of FitNastics and begin to experience the wonderful world of gymnastics. Building up your child’s gross motor skills, including their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, gymnasts work towards accomplishing some of the most fundamental skills required in gymnastics while having lots of fun. Using both men’s and women’s apparatus, following meticulously designed circuits, and playing skill specific games, this co-ed class is the perfect starting block for your child in gymnastics, specially designed for school-aged children between 5 and 7 years old.

As a step up from Junior Fundamentals, Gym Pros focuses on building upon your child’s basic skills. By introducing a more direct focus on specific apparatus, Gym Pros aims to increase your child’s confidence in the gym while improving the level of their skill performance. These classes also begin to place more of an emphasis on your child’s cardiovascular fitness, in addition to teaching your child greater overall body control. From Gym Pros through to Gym Masters, boys and girls now complete their classes in separate groups in order to best focus on the Men’s and Women’s apparatus used internationally in gymnastics.

In Gym Champs, your child will really begin to feel at home in the gym. Looking at increasing the difficulty of their skills and continuing to build upon each of gymnastics’ fundamental elements, gymnasts now begin to incorporate their gymnastics knowledge into routines. With an emphasis on improving your child’s spatial awareness, our highly trained coaches will introduce more aerial elements and high flying tricks. Each gymnast will begin to push themselves to new heights as they learn bigger and better skills.

By the time athletes reach our Gym Aces class, they are able to maintain coordination and spatial awareness in complex physical situations on any of the apparatus in the gym and are confident in their ability to consistently and accurately perform their basic skills. This class focuses on perfecting skill performance, as we place more emphasis on precision and execution. Gym Aces provides gymnasts with the opportunity to build up the strength required for our challenging Gym Masters program.

Currently the most advanced group in our Fitnastics program, Gym Masters aims for its gymnasts to utilise all of their knowledge of the sport to demonstrate a strong command of all elements. Gymnasts in Gym Masters aspire to be the strongest, most agile and fittest they can be, and are able to maintain coordination and spatial awareness in complex physical situations. There is a friendly competitive spirit in these classes.

A class recommended to gymnasts in Gym Champs and above, PowerHour focuses on increasing a gymnast’s strength, speed, power and endurance in order to allow them to successfully and safely complete some of our sport’s more challenging skills. As a specific strength and fitness session, our Power Hour classes are designed to complement our other FitNastics classes.

Flips & Tricks
In Flips & Tricks, our athletes work towards improving their spatial and aerial awareness by perfecting acrobatic elements (such as flips, somersaults and gainers). Gymnasts also work on learning safe falling techniques to encourage the prevention of injuries if such skills are employed in other arenas. Whether your child is interested in parkour, tricking, aerial skiing, freestyle snowboarding, or skateboarding, our Flips & Tricks classes provide a fundamental basis for the acrobatic elements used in these extreme sports, taught in a safe environment, under the supervision of experienced coaches. There’s a Flips & Tricks class to suit all ages and levels of experience, with separate classes for pre-teens (primary school aged) and teens (high school aged).
